welcome to jeela.com - beyond web 2.0 and all that's hot and cutting edge in web technologies.....

neighborrow.com [web 2.0 review]

neighborrow.com is a site that allows users to offer up items that they would allow to be borrowed or traded and other users can search and connect with the lister. Items such as Movies, Music, Video Games and Books are able to be listed.

Here we show a snippet of what search results would look like. The status of the item (Available, Borrowed) is shown as well as the user who has listed the item. The site is currently in Alpha and when I searched for items in Boston or New York I did not get any results.

Overall I feel this is a good site that allows you to ‘reuse’ an item you no longer have a need for and let someone else benefit from it. There is a clean Web 2.0 look and feel and nice flow to the site, time will tell if it will pop but they are one of the 25 companies on the Spigit.com launch and this may help accelerate their growth.

vivapets.com [web 2.0 review]

Does your Dog need a MySpace page? Vivapets.com brings ‘Social Networking’ to the pet world…. There are clever widgets and web pages to create and configure a home page for your pet. There are classified ads for pets and pet related supplies and also the ability to list your company on their directory for pet related companies.

There are dedicated categories for the main types of pets, image galleries, forums and links to sites about pets/pet supplies. So if Fluffy or Rover are in need or showing off their latest pose or listing their top pet foods and favorite chew toy, sign up for an account at Vivapets and create a page for him or her.

This is a good example of social networking being applied to a niche market that will be very popular and solve a need. The site is easy to use and there seems to be a solid following.

wiffiti.com [web 2.0 review]

A cool website that we found that allows you to embed a flash widget into your blog or profile page is Wiffiti.com. We created a wiffiti and put it under ‘Jeela Stuff‘ so send us a text message…..

Basically you place this widget anywhere and people see what messages have been sent to you via text messaging. It is mentioned on the site that you can project it on your wall, personally I don’t see the practicality of this but I do see the widget being used on peoples personal pages.

The widget can be customized with fonts, colors and backgrounds but unfortunately not the size of the widget. I would expect a wide adoption by the user community in the near future…

talkr.com [beyond web 2.0 review]

We recently came across talkr.com and found it to be a very cool technology, something new and innovative. Imagine being able to hear a blog via a podcast on your IPod or better yet your iPhone (if you have 1). The technology behind it creates an MP3 of your blog posting that you can subscribe to. We plan to set it up soon on jeela.com so stay tuned and get some space carved out for us…

Look for the Audio icon and link on your favorite blog, my bet is you will see a lot more of them.
