welcome to jeela.com - beyond web 2.0 and all that's hot and cutting edge in web technologies.....

sudokular.com [web 2.0+ Review]

For all the fans of sudoku this site is for you. I have been playing for some time now and this site makes it convenient when I am at work to hop on for a quick game…. the 1 drawback for me is that I like to keep notes on the page with a pencil when I am playing it in my sudoku book :(

The site is quick, intuitive, has a section for rules/FAQ’s and also offers contests. Another plus is the ability to play and see the site in 3 languages (hopefully more to come).

3b.net [web 2.0 + Review]

The first review for Jeela is 3b.net. I am of the opinion that 3D browsing will become more and more prevalent in the future. The web user community is becoming more sophisticated and this medium allows for a richer user experience. 3B allows a user to browse the web and see related web pages at different angles.

You start off by signing up, creating a village, customizing your avatar, then download and use the 3B browser .

Excerpts from 3b.net:

  • Windowshop the World Wide Web with 3B!
  • It’s free and takes less than 5 minutes to get started
  • Explore 3D cities or malls made of hundreds of websites
  • You’ll know what you want when you see it
  • Scan through hundreds of sites just by looking
  • Discover great new sites as you travel around
  • Use a streetmap to find your way, or take a taxi!
  • 3B comes with the popular Firefox browser built in

Seems like a pretty cool technology that could be used in many ways. Time will tell if it will make money but it’s definitely innovative… Congratulations to 3b.net for being our first review.

jobalize.com [web 2.0 review]

Jobalize.com is a site that utilizes Google Maps and allows you to search an address and see people who are in your area who you can connect and potentially work together on projects. The map shows the location of the user and their details in the right side window so you can learn more about them.

Here is the list of the users who were close to the default location when the Jobalize site first loads, the areas I entered did not have any people in the system.

The site did have an option of displaying both English and French, this should be extended as the maps could in theory be anywhere on the globe.

In general I was not too impressed with the site. The concept needs more features and the use of the site needs to be a little clearer for the casual user.
